Actizen - inter-school contest
Being a citizen of a
transformative country like India it’s the duty of every citizen no matter what
age group they belong to come out with what they perceive.
Desh Apnaye an NGO has come up
with a new way of making citizens not just a citizen but an informed and active
citizen for a better future through inter-school contest named Actizen a citizenship
education contest. Desh Apnaye Foundation aims to upgrade patriotism amongst
the youth. This is not just a contest for students but a way to contour young
minds for a concept of democracy. The contest is for students between grades
seven and nine. It aims at preparing young minds to solve the big issues. This
civic education contest’s motto is DEMOCRACY 2.0. Principle’s and teacher’s
support is vital here.
The quiz contest will be current
affairs based multiple-choice quiz. A team of 4-5 students will represent the
school. The flow of the contest is as follows:
1. Registering for contest
2. Selection of theme and a
30-minute online quiz by students
3. Involvement in 15-minute
community service based on selected theme and submission of proofs online
4. Awarding Participation and
Recognition Certificates after completion of stage one
5. Nomination by schools of 4-5
students for next stage
6. Submission of collaborative
solutions by teams online
7. Shortlisting top 10 schools
for last round
8. Showcasing solutions of
schools to the grand jury
9. Announcement of winner
Top 3 schools will be endowed
with trophies, certificates, and other prizes. Also, an opportunity to feature
in a short film which will be collaborated with the team behind the film
‘Dangal’ for students teachers and principle. Teachers will be awarded the
Young Actizen ‘Mentor’ Awards.
It’s time to wake up and be a
vigilant citizen and to make young minds a ray of hope for a better nation.
Today’s little innovative minds can pool in making our country one of the best
developing countries. Therefore, take a step towards that direction and support
